The Q-active programme has developed a large number of partnerships over its first year with a wide range of organisations and community groups. We have many more in the pipeline as we believe health promotion is a shared responsibility and that team working is the best way to get results. QMC was awarded an Active England grant of £300,000 to set the scheme up.
Hosts Q-active at the Queen's Medical Centre Campus.
Have collaborated on a number of initiatives and we are a partner on their tender for the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund Physical Activity Campaign.
We have supported the council initiatives such as Walk Week and Bike week and continue to have a strong working relationship.
We are working closely with our neighbouring Trust to roll out a similar programme to their staff.
Are advising us on our business plan to take Q-active to the next level as a Social Enterprise.
We are working closely with the Sport Social Enterprise group to develop ways of rolling Q-active out to other NHS Trusts as a Social Enterprise Organisation
With the University of Nottingham, we are developing a cycle training initiative where Ridewise provide cycle training for NUH staff to promote cycling to work.
We are supporting the re-development of this local facility and are working closely with them to provide additional health facilities and opportunities for our staff and their friends and families.

Q-active was a pilot project for this Sport England/Department of Health group to promote workplace wellness in the East Midlands and is a key player in determining the future direction of the group. We were one the first hospital Trusts in the UK to offer Nordic Walking to staff. We continue to work with National organisation British Nordic Walking and the International Nordic Walking Federation to promote this healthy outdoor exercise enjoyed by ~10 million people across the world.
We originally worked with KAM to produce the Working Well East Midlands project pack. We are now collaborating with them on ideas to promote workplace wellness to private employers.
Absolute developed the Q-active logo, branding and promotional materials.
Raleigh have worked with us to promote active travel to our staff by setting up a discount scheme for staff and even generously donated a mountain bike that we raffled to staff during launch week.

This School is the main university link for research and evaluation through our Research Manager Holly Blake. We are conducting a large-scale mixed methods evaluation, developing a programme of research, supervising student projects and collaborating with other research links.

We are collaborating with this Division on grant applications to the Department of Health (www.dh.gov.uk/Home/fs/en) and the BUPA Foundation (www.bupa.co.uk/). We hope to conduct a randomised controlled trial (RCT) of a cycling safety intervention provided by RIDEWISE (www.ridewise.org.uk/).

Dr Lee is on the steering group for the proposed 2007 campaign to "Get Nottingham Active" with the Evening Post.
The local BBC are very supportive of Q-active, through their own "Get Moving" campaign. We have been featured on both their TV and radio stations and won the East Midlands region "most improved employer" in the Big Challenge Awards 2006.
This company have filmed several pieces on Q-active and on workplace wellness in general using our staff, volunteers and participants that are to be broadcast to waiting rooms nationwide.
