Dr Holly Blake As Research Manager for Q-Active (honourary contract with the NHS Trust) I work closely with the Q-Active multiprofessional team.
I am a Chartered Health Psychologist by background with around twelve years experience in health services research, gained from many posts, the majority of which I have held here at QMC. Currently employed as Lecturer in Behavioural Sciences at the University of Nottingham Division of Nursing my present teaching areas include behavioural sciences and health, evidence-based practice, research methods and workplace wellness. I have several administrative responsibilities and supervise masters and doctoral students.
Q-Active is an exciting, innovative and ground-breaking initiative in workplace health and my role is to provide an evidence-base for our workplace wellness initiative that may provide a blueprint for future schemes. I have conducted a large programme of research and evaluation and have worked with the team to conduct physical activity and exercise interventions, nutrition and weight management interventions, smoking audits and interventions, alcohol research, stress and well-being audits and interventions, web-based health education, occupational health screening and many other workplace interventions for health. I am also responsible for supervising junior researchers and volunteers assisting with our projects.
I have a passionate interest in health and well-being and am proud to be part of this enthusiastic team responding to key government policy.
