CLIC Sargent's Annual QMC Abseil

15th May 2009

Rachael Ewing Abseiling in 2008

QMC's own Youth Worker, Rachael Ewing, bravely beginning her descent last year.

Last year this now infamous abseil raised almost £25,000 for children and young people with cancer. We had teams dressed up as superheroes and the Telly Tubbies and everyone involved had a great day. This year we are hoping to recreate some of that magic by holding our second, annual abseil from the QMC on 12th July. This hospital is very special to the charity as we have a dedicated social care team based there who help families in and around the Nottinghamshire area who have a child with cancer. Do your bit for those families by taking part. It's £15 to register and £100 minimum sponsorship.

Q-Active to Run Race for Life

14th April 2009

Q-Active programme facilitator, Yola Booth, is running the 5K Race for Life in Nottingham on 21st June.

Yola says, "I'm not the best runner in the world and have developed a training plan to help me run the whole race and it would be fantastic if people would be kind enough to sponsor my efforts for such a fantastic cause. My Father-in-law wasn't able to recover from his cancer and my Auntie has just had an operation to remove a cancerous growth from her bowel, so this Charity is very close to my heart. Every pound that can be raised will be used to make a difference, so please give as generously as you can."

Yola would appreciate any encouragement also! If you contact us, we will make sure that Yola receives your messages.
